Camel

About Camel

Size: 1.91km²
Leases Type: Prospecting
Primary Commodity: Gold (Au)

Located in the Central Goldfields of Western Australia just 8 kilometres north of the town of Leonora is the Infinity Mining Camel tenement.  The Camel tenement is a prospecting lease with its primary commodity identified as gold.

Camel is one of the earliest leases taken up in the area with underground mining reported from three reefs to a depth of 45 meters totaling around 938 tonnes with grades ranging from 31 to 38 grams per tonne.  Historic reports suggest water ingress was the main contributor for mining being discontinued.  However, more recent exploration in 1986 reported 7 Reverse Circulation holes drilled to depths ranging between 30 and 40 meters.

Observations noted in the report were that “Gold mineralisation within the tenement is restricted to a narrow shear extending over a 300-meter strike length”.  The program also assessed the potential for a small tonnage, open-pit gold resource. However, while the programme failed to encounter any significant zones of gold mineralisation, a second parallel lode was defined”.

Plans for the Camel tenement include a detailed review and compilation of all existing data and survey locations in addition to targeting the known workings with deeper drilling.  Recent aerial geophysics mapping has identified an extension of the mineralised structure to the North. And both soil and rock chip sampling have confirmed this geological structure.

Infinity plans to test this new area for potential gold mineralisation in the second half of 2022.  Camel is just part of Infinity Mining’s 13.8 square kilometre Central Goldfields portfolio.

Historically Rick Gold Producing Area

    • Combined production for these areas was 34.64 kilograms gold from 938 tonnes of mined ore @36.88 grammes per tonne:
    • Sons of Australia is recorded in Minedex as 26.3kg Au from 691 tonnes.
    • Camel Leases is recorded in Minedex as 4.39kg Au from142 tonnes @30.9g/t
    • Kruger and Viceroy combined produced 3.95kg Au from 105 tonnes @37g/t (including dollied ore).
    • The gold zone intersected in CL001 is though not to be associated with the main shear zone but is a second parallel lode. It is possible the drilling missed the reef structure in most of the holes
    • The final meter in drill hole CL007 assayed 0.99g/t gold
    • A20429 is from Sons of Gwalia in 1986. It reports a 7-hole RC drilling programme.
    • Gold mineralisation within this tenement is thought to be associated with a narrow shear extending over a 300-meter strike length.  The 1986 drilling program failed to encounter any significant zones of gold mineralisation, however a second parallel lode was defined in one hole

    • The final meter in drill hole CL007 assayed 0.99g/t gold.
    • Redrilling of this second parallel lode is recommended.
